The Climate Justice Committee stands with Palestine activist and Cal Poly Humboldt grad student Rick Toledo as he fights bogus trumped-up federal charges for protesting in support of Palestine!
On March 6, officers broke down Toledo’s door and raided his home, taking him into custody without bail. Toledo is now potentially facing four felony charges. He also faces a civil lawsuit from the California Attorney General. Additionally, days before the arrest, Cal Poly Humboldt suspended Toledo and fired him from his teaching position at the university.
This extreme level of repression is in response to a student-led, day-long building occupation in support of Palestine, which took place earlier this year. Students occupied a campus building to demand that Cal Poly Humboldt divests from Israeli bonds. Toledo supported this occupation, and now the state is using him to set an example to Palestine activists everywhere. We stand with Toledo in his fight against political repression. Toledo did the right thing in standing up against genocide. Fighting for Palestinian liberation is not a crime!
Political repression against one person allows increased political repression for anyone who is willing to stand up and fight for what’s right.
The Climate Justice Committee not only condemns the state’s attempt to silence pro-Palestine organizers. We will stand up any time we see political repression against anyone fighting for our collective liberation!
The Climate Justice Committee not only condemns the state’s attempt to silence pro-Palestine organizers. We will stand up any time we see political repression against anyone fighting for our collective liberation! This time the powers that be are going after pro-Palestine organizers, but they will come for all our movements at some point, and we need to stand together in solidarity with people facing repression every time to make sure we keep each other and our movements safe.
We won’t back down when it comes to standing up against political repression, and we will never stop fighting for a free Palestine!
Drop the charges!
Protesting is not a crime!
